Vanishing Bottles Davenports exclusive range of Vanishing Bottles is unsurpassed in quality. This astounding effect from the United States which can also be used in a cabaret situation. It can be performed "straight" or a part of a comedy routine. The effect is briefly that you can show your audience a paper bag and a full bottle of Heinz Tomato Ketchup. You say that you are going to perform a simple trick with the bottle and the bag. You place the bottle in the bag and tell your audience that you are going to make it disappear. You pass your hand over the bag, say the magic words and look in the bag expecting that the bottle has gone only to realise that it is still there! Your audience are not surprised but intrigued as to what is going to happen. You continue with bits of business and eventually turn the bag upside down, of course clearly holding the bottle through the bag - your audience are now really beginning to doubt your sanity. Finally you appear to have exhausted all your magic powers and in a final fit of frustration at not being able to make the bottle vanish you simply crumple up the paper bag with the bottle inside into a ball and throw it over your shoulder - or in a bin - in sheer disgust! Zone Infinity A 10p coin is placed into a small holder at the end of a key chain. The holder is then inserted into a slim frame and the metal key is then pushed right through the centre of the coin - metal through metal. The coin is then shown to be unharmed. This delightful effect is virtually self-working and very easy to perform. "Zone Infinity" is one of the most diabolical magic tricks ever created. If you were to see this performed you wouldn't have a clue as to how it was done.

Bengal Net  Made from high quality ply and finished in several coats of quality varnish. The Bengal net consists of a holder with a net hanging down from it. The net is folded up in half and hooked into this position, forming a sort of hammock. Two doves, a large rabbit or anything it will hold is placed into the net. At your command the net falls open and the items in the hammock visibly vanish. The backcloth to the net can be moved away so that the audience can see clear through the net. There is no question that the doves or rabbit have vanished. The is sensational visible magic at its best. Our new models have one hand instant release. Strat-O-Sphere This is one of the most eye appealing effects we offer in this range. You have a tall clear plastics tube with metal ends. This rests on a base. A highly decorated metal tube and a wooden box are included. Three balls, each 3 inches in diameter, are used. The balls are red, yellow and green and match the tube decoration. This colour match is for pattern purposes. Although there is just room in the tube fro the balls, one on top of the other, the ball placed on top of the three successively appears on the bottom of the stack of three, or in the centre of the stack! One ball, the red one, always does the wandering. Finally, you take this roaming ball and place it in the wooden box. Hey Presto! you grasp the box by the end of the doors and flip it open. The ball has vanished! Your audience sees completely through the box. This is one of the most baffling mysteries in magic. Needle Thru Balloon  This can be performed as a comedy routine or straight. The beauty of this effect is that it can be performed for any audience as everyone loves to see a balloon bursting! In this effect you can actually show the balloon to be quite normal ... because it is! There is nothing stuck onto it nor anything that looks suspicious. In its simplest form. You have a balloon blown up by a member of the audience and you tell them that you are about to perform a death defying act or some other tosh! You then take a long steel needle and wipe it dramatically to heighten the tension. The needle is then plunged into the bottom of the balloon ... and it doesn't burst. You can of course ask them to count to three and every time they get to three you stop them - pretending you are too afraid to do it. You can ask them if they really want you to burst the balloon and you know what their answer will be! Eventually you do plunge the needle in and the magic happens. You even can go through the other side of the balloon and some magicians attach a thin ribbon to the needle for a really strong effect. The trick comes complete with a set of balloons. Insta Salt Ideal for close-up or stage. You pour salt from a saltcellar into a handkerchief, give the handkerchief a shake and the salt has vanished. You show your hands empty, but you begin to reach into the air and suddenly the salt pours from your fist into a spectator's hand. You show your hand empty again and ask the spectator to place the salt he has in his hand into your right fist, quickly you show your right hand empty and simultaneously you begin to pour salt out of your fist in AN APPARENTLY UNENDING SUPPLY OF SALT. The gimmicks are made in high-reaction plastic material as you would expect from the makers Vernet, and comes complete with full illustrated instructions and routine. Not difficult to perform. Visible Die Penetration You show your audience a thin square tube which has windows allowing them to see through the tube. A solid cube or die (without die spots) is shown and is clearly solid . Solid blades - which can be inspected if required - are then placed into the tube dividing it into three separate compartments. The die is now placed into the tube and rests on the top blade. Suddenly the die is seen to visibly melt through the top blade and enter into the second compartment! The top blade is removed to show it is still intact and SOLID! Now the die is seen to pass through the lower blade into the bottom compartment. The second blade is removed and also shown to be intact. The tube is now lifted off its thin base and the die remains and can be shown to be solid and unharmed. This effect can be linked with our "Houdini's Escape Cube" where you first present the Houdini escape from a wand in a tower then show Houdini's cube pass through the blades of the Visible Die Penetration tube. The prop is beautifully made in a metallic finish over superbly finished heavy duty hard plastic. All the parts - except the magic die - can be inspected if you wish but it is not really necessary as they can be shown to be quite normal during your presentation. Price £49

 

Houdini Escape Cube A tower is shown which has two solid sides with holes top and bottom through which you can push a magic wand. At the base and rear of the tower are clear windows. You begin by showing the tower with a cube held in the top part by a magic wand through its centre. It is now removed from the tower and is seen to be a solid and normal cube. This is now placed into the tower and allowed to fall to the bottom where it is secured by the magic wand through the sides of the tower. The effect now takes a twist as when the tower is turned round and on one side of the cube is a picture of the great escapologist Harry Houdini. The cube is now dramatically lifted out of the tower and visibly melts through the solid magic wand yet when it comes out is as solid as ever! A real escape by the greatest escape artist of all time!
