| The
Spellbinding Boxes
are a true marvel of magic. A spectator’s signed coin is placed under
a handkerchief and then held by the spectator. The magician then removes
a golden container from his pocket and it is placed in the spectator’s
other hand. Now, with the handkerchief covering the signed coin in one hand,
and the gold container in the other hand, the spectator is ready to be amazed!
The magician then takes the handkerchief from the spectator revealing the
coin has vanished. The spectator is then asked to open the gold container,
revealing another sealed container inside! The inner container is opened
to reveal another container inside, a third container. The third container
is opened to reveal a 4th container inside. Now for the climax, inside the
4th container is the spectator’s signed coin…. The Spellbinding
Boxes are hand made in brass with a high shine polish. Included with the
apparatus is a special black handkerchief ready to perform this pocket miracle!

Billusion If you like
Jay Sankey's effects, here is one that we enjoy demonstrating. You borrow
a banknote from a spectator - any denomination is fine. You now show
a small metal disc and explain that the disc is made of an unidentifiable
material that you found whilst visiting what was rumoured to be the
site of a UFO crash! Or you can just say it's a metal disc ... it's
up to you. Either way, you begin to rub the disc across the banknote,
suddenly it appears to melt halfway into the banknote! This is a startling
and visual moment when it appears as if the effect was literally stopped
in the middle of the magic. At this point, some magicians, actually
show the disc on both sides of the note. To finish, you cause the disc
to actually pop right through the note and into the spectator's waiting
hands. The note is unharmed but the spectators can readily see the mark
where the disc penetrated the banknote. Everything can be examined at
the end. Modest skill required but there are no complex moves or involved
handling. Price £14:50 |

The Golden Key A 24 K gold plated
house key is shown. The teeth of the key are made to magically move round
the barrel of the key then they move down to the bottom of the barrel.
The key is then handed out for examination and the teeth are clearly seen
to be welded onto the barrel in the wrong place. Comes in a delightful
and plastic jewellers presentation case with instructions. Easy to do
but requires a little practice and very modest skill. Price £24

Ring on a Rope You show your audience a rope with a ring threaded onto it. You than take the ring off the rope and place it on the table. You follow this by hanging the rope around your neck and knotting the ends together. You now pick up the ring, and in a instant, magically attach it onto the rope behind your neck. All items can be immediately inspected. This effect is based on the Jardine Ellis ring but the ring in this instance is flat and superbly made with a quality chrome finish. If you know the Jardine Ellis ring, then the ring provided can be used for many effects that the ring is used for. Price £12 |

Its a Match A truly novel effect
and one that will give 'variety' and a feeling of the 'unusual' into any
performance. You show an authentic looking hotel key card You know the
type, the one that looks like a Credit Card. This is placed face down
in full view on your table. You then introduce a pile of 20 hotel advertising
matchbooks which are in a bowl, reading the names of a few of them aloud.
A participant is invited to choose one. The name of the hotel that is
read aloud is found to be from the same hotel as the key card laying on
the table in view all the time. This is the bare bones of a very clever
and well scripted routine that comes from Andy Leviss which was inspired
by Larry Becker's 'Casino Royale'. Further ideas and additional handling
are included in the full instructions. Easy to do. Price £16.50

Misled This is the original
version exactly as performed by David Copperfield. It is one of the most
effective and innovative close-up effects to be invented in recent years
by Timothy Wenk of Cardtoon fame. The whole routine involves a quite stunning
penetration of a bank note with a normal pencil and comes complete with
a 25 page, fully illustrated, instruction booklet. We saw Timothy perform
this at FISM'94 and it absolutely blew everyone sideways. Just imagine
a double stunner - first of all you physically push the pencil through
the note then as a kicker you lay the pencil in between the folded note,
with both ends in view, and the pencil visibly melts through the note
- now if that is not magic - what is! The routine include options and
variations. Not self working but easy to perform. Price £16 |

Card Warp By Roy Walton A Davenport exclusive
and one of the most baffling effects in the history of card magic and
it is really weird yet so simple to perform. A single playing card defies
all the known laws of logic. The card is folded in half lengthways, so
that only the back design shows. The card is then pushed through a cardboard
folder and as it emerges from the other side is seen to be now inexplicably
face up! The spectators can visibly see that half the card is face up
and the other half is face down. The effect is now repeated and the third
sequence is an effective finale, that leaves the apparatus in the spectator's
hands. The playing card is an ordinary one. No extra cards are used, nor
are there any difficult sleights to perform and a patter theme about a
'Time Tunnel' would fit perfectly. The 8 page, A5 size booklet of instructions
that accompanies the cards you need is superbly printed on high quality
art paper and has a rich red art board cover. This is the original version.

Rainbow Cascade This is a COLOURFUL
version of Roy Walton's original 'Cascade' where the original routine
has been altered to incorporate brilliant colour changes from normal backed
cards to quite stunning holographic material backed cards! To Terri Rogers
must go the credit for the innovation of using cards with a special reflective
material affixed which creates a stunning and totally unexpected finale.
Taking these things into consideration ' Rainbow Cascade' has become substantially
different in effect to the original and is now regarded as a classic in
its own right. A degree of basic card skill is required for this effect
but the instructions do give full details of the moves involved and these
are readily acquired with a little practice. Note that this is an exclusive
Davenport item. To see it ... is to buy it ... a miracle! The stock used
for CA-014 is made up from Bridge Size, Piatnik cards for easy handling.
Comes complete with a handsome 6 page, A5 size art paper booklet of instructions.
with a distinctive blue art board cover. Price £7.50 |

Lift A fast and quitespectacular
visual trick with three cards (in Bicycle Poker sized card stock) which
produces genuine amazement. A card which is inserted face up between the
other two face down cards jumps to the bottom in a flash, then to the
middle. The audience just see that - the face up card appears to jump
from the middle to the bottom then back again! To finish the trick, you
repeat the trick once more but now the card has changed from blue to red!
At the end, the cards can be shown individually front and back and look
quite normal. Brilliant and simple. Price £8.50 |
